Qualcomm is hosting the second annual Smart Cities Accelerate 2020 event. This online event brings together Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program ecosystem members, technology executives, and Internet of Things (IoT) thought leaders and practitioners from around the world.
Since the April 2019, launch of the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program, the ecosystem has brought together over 300 members, received an initial $75 million in capital for investment in projects developed in collaboration with ecosystem partner JLC Infrastructure, and shifted toward a new vision, prioritizing the enablement of IoT-as-a-Service (IoTaaS) through the Qualcomm IoT Services Suite.
This year’s digital event sessions started with an opening fireside chat keynote with Cristiano Amon, President, Qualcomm, and Verizon SVP and chief Product officer Aamir Hussain, and moderated by Jeff Lorbeck, SVP and GM of IoT, Qualcomm Technologies. The event covers the recent technology advances, business models, and best practices for enabling smart cities and smart connected spaces, including panels with US city mayors and industry experts,
product demos and more.
“We’re thrilled to virtually bring together our Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program ecosystem of IoT solutions providers, systems integrators, technology and government leaders to discuss the growing opportunities for smart cities and spaces,” said Sanjeet Pandit, senior director, business development and global head of Smart Cities, Qualcomm Technologies.
