The Academic Council on Wednesday decided to hold open-book semester exams in mid-January. The varsity said that a mock test will be conducted before the final date sheet is out.
Following criticism for the proctored method, Jamia vice-chancellor Najma Akhtar, had told TOI that she would write to the UGC and request them for suggestions regarding their plan of action.
The Jamia AC on Wednesday also decided that the individual scores of students will be uploaded online. The decision came following accusations of lack of transparency in the admission process from the AISA unit of the varsity.
Jamia’s Executive Council will meet on December 31 to discuss the details of the open book exam method. The VC had earlier said that the varsity was also studying the method employed by Delhi University.
