They also reaffirmed their demand for a complete rollback of Centre’s new farm laws.
In a joint opposition statement, the parties alleged that the Modi govt was ‘insensitive’ to the demands of the dissenting farmers, and remained ‘undemocratic’ and ‘unmoved’ in their response. “We stand in solidarity with the farmers,” the statement added.
The joint statement is undersigned by Congress, NCP, DMK, Shiv Sena, RJD, CPM, IUML, PDP, MDMK among others.
In addition, Leaders of the opposition parties have issued a joint statement demanding an impartial investigation into incidents of violence in Delhi during tractor rally and Centre’s role in the events.
The statement further said that the three farm Laws, are an assault on the rights of the States and violate the federal spirit of the Constitution.
